Dorset Hundred 2016

The Dorset group of the Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA) is hosting the annual hundred mile challenge walk over the Bank Holiday weekend of 28th to 30th May 2016. The walk will take in areas from the books of Thomas Hardy, of his Egdon Heath, of ancient Iron Age hill-forts, drove roads and ridgeways, of the Tolpuddle Martyrs, thatched cottages and picture-postcard villages.

Walkers will also be treated to Dorset Flapjacks at the 5 refreshment stops on the route and they will need it as many of them walk constantly without a break for up to 48 hours to be able to complete the 100 mile route.

For keen walkers the LDWA organises many challenge and local group walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Group walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.  You can find out more here https://www.ldwa.org.uk/2016Hundred
